Shabbat Special Guest Speaker – Carole Philipson

Do you know the history of trying to have a Senior Center here in Lakeland? Come learn about the past and future plans for a Lakeland Senior Hub from Carole Philipson during our Shabbat service on Friday 12/5.

Carole Philipson BIO

A native Floridian, Carole Philipson has lived in Lakeland since 1996. She served for 15 years as a Vice President of Operations at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. During that time, she had executive responsibility for master planning and overseeing construction. Some of her projects included planning the building of the Cancer Center, B wing and parking garage, among many others.

Following LRMC, Carole became a Vice President in a similar capacity with Adventist Health System at Advent Health Carrollwood for 5 years. She later worked for The Lunz Group doing business development and project management in healthcare.

Currently Carole a consultant specializing in strategic and facility planning, operations improvement and workforce development. Carole is a graduate of Leadership Lakeland, Leadership Polk and the Citizens Police Academy.

Carole has served on the Lakeland Midtown CRA (Community Redevelopment Authority) board as well as Central Florida Healthcare board, and the Lakeland Police Pension Board. She was a Campus Board member of USF Lakeland and USF Poly and was involved in the master planning, site selection and construction management of the campus now known as Florida Polytechnic.

Carole also completed serving 3 terms on the USF foundation board.  Carole currently serves on the Boards of Lakeland Vision, Goodwill Suncoast, the Lakeland police citizen advisory board, city of Lakeland public endowment fund and the Polk County industrial development board. She is Board chair of Lakeland Senior Hub Inc.

Carole graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology from Tulane University and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is a Lifetime Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Carole is married to Lyle, former owner of Alphagraphics.   They have 4 grown sons. Both Carole and Lyle are members of The Lakeland Rotary Club. You can find them seated at ‘Willi’s table’ at most Tuesday meetings!
