In 1946, a young husband and wife could finally return to their homes in Poland after 5 years in Slave Labor Camps in Siberia. They had everything they owned in the world with them: some pillows, a blanket, clothes and a 1 1/2 year old daughter born in that camp- Rose (Raisa) Rosenkranz was that child.

Rose has been in Jewish education for almost 40 years. Eighteen of which was as Director of Education at Temple Beth David in Palm Beach Gardens Florida where she worked with Rabbi David Goldstein. In addition, she has served as Regional Director of The March of the Living since it’s inception in 1988. This International Teen Program has taken over 250,000 to Poland and Israel.

Rose has been an Instructor In Holocaust Studies for the Summer Institute for Public School teachers; Instructor at the Judaica Institute of the CJE of West Palm Beach; on the task force for the development of curriculum on Holocaust and African American Studies in the P.B public schools; curriculum for the Catholic Archdiocese and Protestant Church.

As a child survivor, she is a sought after lecturer to schools, groups and organizations. Rose was recognized for her work by The Forum for Dialogue among Nations in Poland working with Polish and Jewish teens trying to break the cycle of prejudice. She established the first Jewish library in the town of Tykochin and offers yearly Awards to Polish students for their Essays or Art work on Jews and Judaism.

Rose has been given many Awards for her achievements but her greatest Award has been her family!

The program is free but we will be collecting donations for the March of the Living. The March of the Living is an annual educational program, bringing individuals from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance, and hatred. Since its inception in 1988, more than 260,000 alumni from 52 countries have marched down the same  3-kilometer path leading from Auschwitz to Birkenau on Holocaust Remembrance Day – Yom Hashoah – as a tribute to all victims of the Holocaust.
